History:

It all started with a simple concept in early 1990 by a small group of people sitting in a booth around 3 in the morning. They were surprised that in the local combat groups, the fighting companies were only focused on the fighting.  Half of them didn’t have any garb to speak of, and the weapons and armor were either bought or poorly made. The concept of starting a house that focused on the Arts and Sciences came to mind.  Sadly, as the sun began to rise, the group was too tired to care to write anything down and the concept was lost.

In 2006 the concept took shape in the form of Wea’tah. What started out as a simple idea of another merc unit slowly evolved into the original idea of so long ago. So what is Wea’tah?

Wea’tah is a unit that would be listed as a mercenary unit, but to call it just a merc unit would not do it justice.  Sure, the unit does sell its fighting skills to the highest bidder, but that is only a small part of the whole. The unit also believes in supporting its own members, through teaching and encouragement.

We, as a unit, focus on the Arts and Sciences of Dagorhir. Every member has the opportunity to learn to make garb, weapons, armor, leather items, siege weapons and countless other items. They learn how to host an event, or even a feast. We also try to help provide the needed items to assist those new to the unit and those new to Dagorhir to get started. We want every member in our unit to feel like a they are part of a family, rather then just a group of fighters.

As for the fighting skills, they are not forgotten. Since several members of the unit have experience in other fighting groups, they have brought those skills, ideas and knowledge to the unit. We offer an extended library containing books on historical tactics, eastern and western philosophies. We also provide training and access to equipment that is used in other combat groups and martial arts disciplines.
